Winter Festival Fashion Collection

So you remember the Frosted Feather Fashion post where I designed some sparkly outfits for the character Onah who went to the winter festival in the MN-CN-I RP. Well I've gone on a fashion design spree and just couldn't resist but make several more outfit designs for other characters who attended the festival; plus this gave me a reason to design fantasy winter costumes. :P

Golden Snowflake+coat
The above design is based off a small description of what BionicleMOCFTW posted in the RP on what his character Ace wore to the festival. My mind saw the golden snow flake designs on white, complete with sheer gold sleeves and golden glitter heels. Even the dress has glitter spots, the snowflakes meant to be metallic material. The coat would be heavy light blue suede with pressed metallic white and gold details that have a hint of sparkle too; the sleeves, bottom, and collar lined with fluffy white fur, and the front button and eye fastened.
Bubble Lulu+ jacket cape
Bubble Lulu outfit. Lulu is my character in disguise as a bubble, plasma type in element. All colors are based off the theme of three elements from Bionicle, the green being air, the blue water, and the orange plasma.
The outfit itself is an odd set of decorated pants that continue all the way down into being a boot. Then the front and back flaps attach to the ballerina skirt top, complete with beading and sparkly batik. It almost seems the skirt part would be separate from the middle belt piece and detach, the rest (belt, top, pants and boots) would be a full body suit.

The jacket cape was an extra idea, semi Medieval themed with modern neon colors. It would have internal clasps and a few ties at the neck for closing.
These last two relate to a few characters of the Ko region. To the left is the masculine icicle jacket with warm leather boot moccasins. It was  designed for the character Tarrok, played by another member in the RP. Tarrok is a young ice type, and needed a jacket to wear to the festival. I imagined it to be dark blue with sparkly white embroidery and fur lining. The boots were an extra idea.

To the right is the fantasy gown based off the fairy queen in ice form. The outfit was designed for my character Sicline, yet another ice type with a certain classy demeanor if it calls for it. The wings and fairy queen idea were sort of a concept joke in the story where Tarrok gave Sicline the wings made of ice as part of costume for the festival.

Frosted Feather Fashion

Yes, another fashion inspiration from the MN-CN-I RP. These outfits are inspired off the idea of Onah's winter festival gown, a theme to look as frosted feathers, seeing her design is based off the birds.

The first design seemed okay, though didn't quite fit what flashed through my mind when I was first imagining the dress. It was pretty, but also seemed a bit too light weight for cold weather, so I made the second version which is meant to look as layered feathers lined with soft, sparkly downy feathers. I then added a fur wrap to the top for warmth, and added feather embroidery to the bodice. The whole outfit is meant to be soft and sparkly, two good themes for snow and birds.
I decided to add in a matching cape as extra, figured it would make sense considering the festival takes place outside in a snowy region.

The extra design on the far right is just like the first, only I excluded the skirt gems and smudged the material to look more feathered, but feel like it better resembles a mint. The extra clear layers on the top have extra feather fluff added to them too.

Fashion Headphone Designs

Headphone designs, always have liked fashion based headphones. These two sets are based off a few of the fantasy hair bun designs. The first set of designs is the Pearllight helmet ear pieces to match with the cap.

The second design is the fantasy rose bud set headphones to match the rose bud hair buns. I actually think it would be fun having roses covering your ears. It would be a copper brown with green inlay headband made of painted, pressed leather with vines and leaves. The padding of the headphone would be a lime green, and the rose would be a type of satin rose attached to a detachable base different flowers and color variation.

Sleep cap and novelty towel designs

A few practical, yet fun accessory designs for everyday things. The top sketch of an odd sleeping cap is a concept invention I want to make actual. It's a satin sleep cap for long hair, meant to prevent damage and splits from friction caused by standard cotton pillowcases and sheets. Satin prevents friction and keeps the hair from getting roughed up and broken, but because my braid doesn't stay on the pillow, I thought why not make a satin sleeping cap with braid cover.

The bottom sketches with quick color are bath towel concepts. I always thought it would be fun to have towels I can wrap my hair in that look like soft served ice cream with sprinkles or a twisted pink candy cane.

Branch Reindeer

A couple of weeks ago when I stepped outside for some clean, cold air, I looked up and into the trees and what did I see? The one chopped up tree had this odd patch of twigs and leaves which looked very much like a reindeer with a super long tail.
I thought it was so funny that I took a picture to say there are strange reindeer in the tree this season. :P Look at those super long antlers, that tail, and stumpy little legs. You see it?

Spiderman Decorates the Tree

Here's a funny panel of pictures. Just couldn't resist the cute idea of having Spiderman hang an ornament on my mini tree. It was a splurge of the moment photo shoot and it just seems so funny, plus the little accent ornaments on my tree are just the right size for the figurine's hands.
A little joke on why I think Spiderman is decorating the tree while in his outfit. In my head I heard a
conversation between a fan and Spiderman and it went like this:

Fan: So Spiderman, why are you decorating a tree and wearing your suit still?
Spiderman: Well, you see the hands are cloth covered, so I don't tarnish the ornaments while I hang them up; you know, finger grease and all is bad for the ornaments, so I mind as well just wear the suit till I'm done.
Merry Christmas from Spiderman. :P

Tribal Kilt

Yes, it's a very odd combo of tribal and Celtic in one, also based off some scenes from the MN-CN-I RP. It started off with the idea of a leaf decorated plaid as a kilt with a matching bag weight that's accented with thorn beads and a fur tuft at the bottom. From there I added some vine shapes, armor, and tribal accessories that matched island themes.
This outfit specifically was designed for the character Ion as a joke.

I like it, I think this combo of themes should be tried more often. :D

Oh yeah, you may also have noticed, this is the first male model form I've designed on. Traced over an image recently so I could have a nice male model form for future ideas.

Purple Presence

Another inspired outfit from the MN-CN-I RP. My character Onah got a new purple outfit and danced in town with her pom pom weights.

Based off this scene, I designed an outfit and cape. In the RP the dress was bought from the store "Perfect PJ's" (which sells more than nightgowns). The cape was worn to hide the outfit till the dancing started and the outfit was revealed as a surprise.
The pom pom weights are used by Onah to strengthen her wrists so she can better handle her blades, but she uses these weights as part of a graceful dance form too, combining her element of air and levitation into the mix and floating into the sky when she gets fast enough.

Backstabbing User

A small comic block based off a feeling from a few years back. I was thinking about Tron and then crossed it with the irritation of feeling like some of your pals are backstabbing users. Suddenly I saw a Tron version of myself in utter irritation screaming after discovering my best pal is a backstabbing user.  XP

Megatron VS MEGA Tron

Others I'm sure have made the connection of similar names between the Dicepticon leader Megatron and the computer program figure Tron.

I've had the what if concept for a long while, of a giant Tron verses Megatron. A concept of why Megatron and MEGA Tron are in a video game face off setting is kind of funny. I imagined Megatron having a hacking session on the internet and his mind takes a wrong turn, getting trapped in the Tron world where he's then placed in games and Tron is super sized so the two are equally matched programs. (Hope the internet is strong, I can see Megatron facing some lag from his size) XP.

Other small concepts that make me laugh is the thought of having an actual video game like this. I can see this image showing up as an Easter egg pic in certain still life photo scenes I do, make a couple figures play a video game in the background and have this on the prop screen. :D

Belly Dance Blossoms-collection 1

Hello everybody, I know I've been quiet, but the fashion urge hit me again and I have some fun new designs to share.

Inspired off belly dance outfits, specifically ones that Irina Akulenko from New York Dance wears (look her up on Youtube to see what I mean).

Inspired off videos and also character ideas from stories I act, the first collection of belly dance blossoms is now done. I'm not sure if I'll make more blossom collections or not, depends on my mood, but these make me happy so far.

Going from left to right: "Wild Forest Flower"/ "Dancing Iris"/ "Vine Mistress". (Okay so vines aren't flowers, but they're friends of flowers.) :P

Bubble Blue Electro

Another cool experiment I did with a flier image. Bubble Blue Electro might serve as a character in some scifi ideas; her name would just be Electro. Who knows, maybe she's an android, reminds me of a character from Tron.

Original experiment below. She was suppose to look like a robot of some sort, and that's when I went back and decided to make that theme more dominate. Used the cut out filter and the poster edge filter in PSE to make it look comic like. Then I used tech brushes to add that extra electrical themed touch.

A final tip on this is that I'm so pleased with the style of this image that I'm tempted to make a trading card series of electro and friends.

Beauty's Mirror

Beauty's Mirror is a completed experiment I started some time ago. The image below was a test try of using a scanned face from a flier and then outlining and painting it. (base image result below).

Seeing it was cropped funnily, I felt like this woman was looking in a mirror, thus leading to the image above.

Never know, she could make a pretty Sleeping Beauty or something, might make a cool card even.

Holiday and Sweets Book

Holiday and Sweets book. One of my favorite food catalogs out of the collection.

I've yet to make a video flip through on this fat book, brimming with yummy contents.

Again, it measures 12x14, is made of cardboard, covered with old wrapping paper and accented with gold decorative tape. Front cover center piece is a wreath image from a holiday Trader Joes bag which I then colored with pastel chalk, the title is sparkly red embossed letters on brown card stock, inner covers are collages made from Trader Joes paper bag images, pages made from paper bags and other papers, tabs made from cereal box tabs backed with red paper bag and stamped with a title. The corrugated sides are hidden with gold duck tape, the cover sealed with Liquitex varnish, holes were then drilled and the book was completed with book rings accented with transparent red pony beads.

The Coffee Book

The Coffee Book. Just a sneak peek at one of my large catalog books pertaining to foods and drinks I like. It's part of a three, possibly four book collection of food based catalogs, one of those being the Trader Joes Food Catalog. Each Album measures around 12x14.

In this book I hold coffee labels, coffee coasters, cards from coffee places, sugar packets from coffee stops, bean mixture recipes, and more. I also hope to have a coffee shop dream/planner section in the book for keeping record of things I dream to have in my own coffee place someday.

This album is simple; using cardboard, brown paper, paper bags and other papers for pages, additional decorations to the cover like stamping and embossed stenciled letters for the title, glazed and then given drilled holes to put the book rings through, accented with smoky black pony beads.

Left is front cover, middle is spine, right is back cover (inner covers look the same as back cover).

I hope to make a video flip through and show this albums contents when I get it completed.

Potent Herbal Tea

A bit different for me to make things like this, but when the artsy urge hits, go with it.

This was a canning jar of herbal tea sitting on my kitchen counter. I thought, hey, those herbs look kind of cool sitting around in this yellow liquid; makes me think of specimens kept in a jar of alcohol and hidden away somewhere in a dark, dusty basement. (Imagination can go anywhere right?). So I picked up my camera and took some pictures.

Then during PSE editing of the basic photos I thought, "Hey, wonder what this would look like if it were red or some other color"? I tried that and ended up liking the original and the red (especially when the herbs turned purple when I played with hue change).

After taking a look at the original, and then at the red, all I could think is, "That's some potent tea" (hence the title).
Original yellow images. Cool, kind of looks like parasites in a jar, or some kind of worm wriggling around in green plant matter.

Red adjust with hints of purple. Made me think of some kind of toxic juice or brine. Even in my geekyness I thought it looked like a drink for Makuta from the Bionicle series.

Both original and red edited hold their own charm in a strange kind of way.

Boogie Board City Bay

Back on September 25th my brother scribbled doodles on a thing called a Boogie Board (some kind of digital note screen) being displayed at Joane's. He was tired of being at Joane's, and sketched out this city scene with a big sunset/sunrise (whatever...). I liked it for some reason, and couldn't pass up taking a photo before he erased it and sketched out a farting Mario.

He said the city sketch wasn't that good, but the beauty of it in my eyes is its simplicity. It holds a certain charm to it, despite it being quick and sketchy.
Just to show what the devise is, that's it. Some kind of tablet technology with stylus.

Pumpkin Patch Pal

I shared the original of this image back in the post Pumpkin Scribbler during 2011. The image dates older than that; I include it below. This year I set out to make improvements for fun, added shading and glow for more depth.

He's still a happy pumpkin; makes a great kids card for Halloween. :D
More enhanced old scribblers on the way. ^.~

Big Belly Bulldog in leaves

Long time back my sister helped in finding this funny, fat bulldog in a scribbler mess. Once she drew it, we left the scribbly mess below as Autumn foliage which the dog so happily sits in.

The original (below) as every scribbler of the 2005/6 or even older era is of course colored with all flat tones. To improve, I simply added shading and more depth to the bushes, splotched in some clouds, and speckled on Autumn colors to the greenish brown leaf mess, resulting in the final piece above.

Autumn Dancing

Smell the apples, hay, and pumpkins
Feel the wind so cool and clean.
Dance with Autumn colors shining
Waltz with leaves like in a dream
See the trees lose all their wishes
Every leaf like many kisses
 Acorns drop, warmth departed
Summer now feels weary hearted

Back in my 2009 sketch book filled with pen scribbled sketches and illustration, I had this image which I call "Autumn Dancing". I've shown the black and white sketch before in the post Autumn Based Sketches; I'm just showing the sketch again so you can see I have finally colored it! :D

The final results came out differently than I expected, but I sort of just let my gut guide me, and slapped in the colors I thought looked nice.
I winged he background completely, even took an easier approach than my original idea; which was to scan Autumn scrapbook paper and use it as the background. Instead I just used a gradient for an Autumn sunset sky, then blotched in purple clouds with hints of gold (seemed cool, no idea why).
After all that I added brown spots to the leaf corners, and added extra maple leaves in with the mix of hand drawn leaves that float around the girl, who dances with the wind.

Bee Careful-scribble

Bee Careful. Fun anonymous scribbler from long ago. I've never done well around bees, but there is a little story which can attach to this image. It reminds me of the current ground bee issue we have in our yard; my dad has already been stung several times, hence the newest name, "Bee Careful".

Tweaks- shading, blush, lighting, facial tweaks, and clouds.
Original scribble.

Tight Squeeze-scribble

I've always loved this image, another scribbler result. The Octopus just wants a hug. ^.~ Poor  diver dude is in a bit of a tight squeeze. Again, a great piece for hanging on the wall of a kids bathroom, or used as a summer postcard.

Tweaks- shading, light stroked with dodge, and water ripple texture.
Original scribble.

Fish Flash Orange-scribble

Fish Flash Orange, a scribbler that was in need of completion. As you can see in the original (below), it needed seaweed color, and the shark needed a fin.  I played withe texture, shading, bubbles, and paint tweaks, getting what could be cute on a kid's bathroom wall or as a simple summer postcard.
Originals still have charm.
